Original 1966 Dated British Army 1960 Pattern Combat Trousers - Size 6

SOLD

Code: 54612

An original pair of British Army 1960 Pattern Combat Trousers dating from 1966 and in average condition.

These trousers came into use with the British Army in the 1960s and were based on the 1952 Pattern uniform issued to British troops serving in Korea. These trousers would have been issued as part of a set which included a matching combat jacket.

The trousers are made from a plain olive green coloured cotton sateen and feature a First Field Dressing pocket to the right hip and a map pocket to the left thigh. The trousers also have reinforced knees, slash pockets to the hips and belt loops. A double ended metal zipper closes the fly and is not marked to the front and bears the words 'Made in England' to the reverse.

Inside the trousers both original labels are still present. One label is an instruction label whilst the other is the issue label whicih bears the size of 6 the, the 1966 date and the War Department broad arrow marking. The maker's name of 'Cookcson & Clegg' is also present.

The trousers will suit a 36" wasit and when laid flat the trousers measure -

Waist - 18 1/2"
Rise - 15"
Rear rise - 19"
Inside leg - 31"
Outside leg - 44 1/2"
Cuff - 8 1/2"

The condition of the trousers is good with signs of wear and use. They are still very wearable but are of course a vintage, pre-owned item which may have small issues commensurate with age. Please take time to study the pictures before purchasing.

A good original pair with a nice clear date.
