Original 1950s British Royal Navy Black Wool Officer's Trousers

SOLD

Code: 54523

An original pair of Royal Navy Officers trousers made by 'C. H. Bernard & Son' in the 1950s

These trousers were made in the post-war period which is evident from the graphics on the label Aside from that small details however they could easily pass for wartime examples when worn or displayed with the officers jacket.

The trousers are cut from the standard black wool cloth used on RN officers uniforms and feature a slash pocket on each hip, buttons for wearing braces, a button fly and a single rear pocket. Inside the trousers the original label is still present and features typical graphics from the period.

The trousers will suit a 30" waist and when laid flat they measure -

Waist - 15”
Rise - 13 1/4”
Rear rise - 18”
Inside leg - 27 1/2” (2 1/2" to let down)
Outside leg - 40"
Cuff - 10"

The trousers are in reasonable condition with plenty of signs of wear and use. The cuffs have worn and frayed and the top and bottom of both the slash pockets is slightly ripped from use. The trousers are far from perfect but are still wearable and display well enough. Please take time to study the pictures and bear in mind that they are a vintage, pre-worn item which have some issues commensurate with age.

Altogether a reasonable pair of early post-war pair of Royal Navy trousers which could easily pass as wartime.
