£65.00 Approx $82.07, €76.02

Code: 54462

An original British Royal Air Force Khaki Drill Shirt dated 1967.

This shirt is made from cellular cotton which is often referred to as 'Aertex'. It is a lightweight, breathable fabric which was popular during the Second World War and in the subsequent post-war years for tropical clothing.

The shirt features a full button front and long sleeves with all the original buttons still being intact. Two pleated chest pockets are also present and feature scalloped pocket flaps. Epaulettes are present at the shoulders and the cuff is a barrel style which fastens with a single button.

Inside the shirt the original label is still present and states the manufacturer as 'Ladybird' of Belfast who were a common maker during this period. The 1967 date is visible as is the beginning of the RAF stores reference number 22E. The War Department broad arrow is also present.

The shirt will suit around a 38" chest and when laid flat the shirt measures -

Chest - 22 1/2"
Inside arm - 21"
Outside arm - 22 3/4"
Shoulders - 17 3/4"
Length at back - 34 1/2"
Collar - 15 1/2"

The shirt is in good condition with some signs of wear and use in keeping with its age. Please study the pictures before purchasing and bear in mind that it is a vintage, pre-worn item which may have small flaws commensurate with age.

A good original post-war RAF shirt with a nice label.
