Original 1940s British Officer's Khaki Drill Bush Jacket

SOLD

Code: 54421

An original 1940s British khaki drill bush jacket as worn by members of the British Army and the RAF during the Second World War as well as in the post-war period.

This example is made from the standard khaki - tan shade of cotton drill used during this period. It features a full button front, short sleeves and moderately scalloped pocket flap shape. Epaulettes are also present and have not had badges fitted which again makes this a good potential candidate for RAF use. The jacket is fitted with a full set of revolving shank buttons which are held in place with period brass split rings. Inside the jacket the original owner has added his initials in ink below the collar which read 'M S'.

The jacket is a smaller size which will suit around a 36" chest depending on desired fit. When laid flat it measures -

Chest - 21 1/2"
Waist 19 1/2"
Length - 28"
Shoulders - 17 1/2"

The jacket is in good condition and is still wearable. There are signs of wear and use but no serious flaws or serious damage. Please take time to study the pictures and bear in mind that this is a vintage, pre-owned item which may have small flaws commensurate with age.

A very original 1940s bush jacket in good wearable condition.
