Original 1940s American Raincoat by 'Zero King'

SOLD

Code: 53958

An original American raincoat made by 'Zero King' in the 1940s.

This style of coat was popular during the 1940s and the addition of the fur trimmed collar gives it a classy, expensive feel. The coat is made from a wool gabardine and features a double breasted front which fastens with large buttons. It is cut in a typical manner for the period and features a waist belt made in matching material and leather covered belt buckle. The interior features a double lining as well as a fur section to the upper portion, making this a very warm and waterproof coat.

The two original labels are present to the interior and are still bright and legible. One is the shop's name who supplied the coat which reads 'J. B. Wells & Sons Co' of Utica, New York. The second is the maker's label which features the brand name of 'Zero One Sports Apparel' and the tagline 'Wind and Water repellent'.

The coat is a smaller size which will suit a 34" - 36" chest depending on desired fit. When laid flat it measures -

Chest - 20"
Inside arm - 18"
Outside arm - 23 1/2"
Shoulder - 16 1/2"
Length - 45"

The coat is in good condition on the whole and is still very wearable. There are no serious flaws, damage or repairs although there is some staining to the exterior which is illustrated in the pictures and reflected in the price.

A nice original 1940s American coat with some great details.
