Original 1950s Men's Two Piece Suit by 'Acrilan'

An original men's two piece suit which was made by 'Acrilan' in the 1950s.

This suit is typical of those made in the 1950s. It features a two button jacket with long, wide lapels which are typical of suits from this period. It is made from a navy blue coloured material which is half worsted and half 'Acrilan' which is a blend of acrylic fibres. Flapped pockets are located to the skirt of the jacket including a ticket pocket and there is a welt pocket to the chest. The rear of the jacket features a single vent which is again typical of the era. 

Inside the jacket is fully lined and features a hanging loop to the neck. There is a single interior pocket below which is the original label which features period graphics and the brand name of 'Acrilan'. 

The trousers are again typical of the era and feature a twin pleated front, button fly and straight slash pockets. There are more buttons fitted around the inside of the waistband to which braces can be attached. There are also side adjusters to the waist which are another common feature to find on suits made during this period. 

The suit will fit someone with a 35" chest and a 30" waist. When laid flat it measures -

The suit is in good condition as can be seen in the pictures. It has been worn with some limited signs of age and wear. Please study the pictures and bear in mind that this is a vintage pre-worn suit with small issues commensurate with age. The sleeves have been shortened but could be let back down if necessary.
