Original 1942 Dated British Military Shorts (2)

An original pair of British military cotton shorts, dating from 1942. 

These shorts were most likely originally intended for hospital patients or convalescents. They are made from aa indigo blue coloured cotton and feature a simple design with drawstring waist. Inside the shorts the original label is still present and bears the maker's name of 'G. Streeton & Son Ltd' below which is the 1942 manufacture date and the War Department broad arrow marking. The size is also stated as 4 which is designed to fit a 36" waist. 

When laid flat the shorts measure - 

Waist - 20"
Rise - 14"
Rear rise - 16 1/2"
Inside leg - 7 1/2"
Outside leg - 19 1/2"
Cuff - 11 1/2"

The shorts are in new old stock, unworn condition. They have no signs of previous wear or age and they are in excellent condition.
