Early 1950s Teal Coloured Harris Tweed Jacket by 'Hepworths' - Size 38

SOLD

Code: 53751

An original British made Harris Tweed men's jacket dating from the early 1950s and in good condition.

This jacket is typical of British made tweed jackets from the 1950s. It is made from a classic teal coloured tweed and features leather footballs to the front and to the cuffs. Flapped pockets are located to the skirt and a single chest pocket is present to the left breast. The rear features no vent which is a typical feature of jackets from the 1940s and into the 1950s. The jacket features a two button front and narrow lapel which dates the jacket to the 1950s, rather than the 1940s.

The interior is fully lined with a silver-grey coloured rayon material and features two internal pockets. Below the main pocket is the Hepworths label which is regularly encountered on late 1940s and early 1950s clothing. Below this is a large Harris Tweed label, which is again typical of the era. Inside the main interior pocket is a paper label which states the size as 38".

The jacket will suit a 38" chest and when laid flat it measure -

Chest - 21"
Inside arm - 17 1/2"
Outside arm - 25 1/4"
Shoulders - 18"
Length - 30 1/2"

The jacket is in good condition with no serious flaws. It displays well and is totally wearable but please take time to study the pictures before purchasing and bear in mind that it is a vintage, pre-owned item which may have small issues commensurate with age.

A classic 1950s jacket with great labels and in a great colour!
