Original 1940s French Duck Cotton Ski Jacket - Size 40

A very nice original 1940s French made ski jacket in a size 40 and in great condition. 

This style of jacket was popular during the 1940s and through into the 1950s. It was a casual item which were also worn for some sports and activities such as walking and other outdoor pursuits. It is made from a khaki grey coloured duck cotton which is a hard wearing type of cotton canvas which was popular in France during this period. It features a full zip front which is maker marked 'Eclair' and there are two angle zip pockets at the chest which have the 'Allee' brand name on them. All the zips are brass and typical of the period. Flapped pockets are located to the skirt and feature a lining as well as a button and loop detail inside. The interior of the coat is fully lined with a green blanket wool material making this a very warm jacket! There is also a drawstring at the waist which is another nice detail and gives the jacket that classic period shape. 

There are no labels in the jacket but it should be a good fit for someone of a 40" chest, depending on desired fit. When laid flat it measures -

Chest - 23"
Inside arm - 23 1/2"
Outside arm - 23 1/2"
Shoulders - 20"
Length - 30 1/2"

The jacket is in very good condition for its age and is still very wearable. It shows some signs of wear and age but overall is very clean and displays well. Please study the pictures and bear in mind that this is a vintage item which may have small issues commensurate with age.
