Original 1950s British Tattersall Waistcoat by 'G. A. Dunn & Co'

SOLD

Code: 53572

An original men's waistcoat dating from the 1950s and made by G. A. Dunn & Co.

Tattersall patterned waistcoats were very popular in the late 1940s and throughout the 1950s and were worn as a contrasting garment, often with grey flannels and a sports jacket of another colour. They are a quintessential piece of menswear from this period and appear in many period films and photographs.

This example is made by the well known menswear outfitters 'Dunn & Co' and features a biscuit base colour to the tattersall pattern. The vest fastens with contrasting green buttons and features welt pockets and two lower pockets with flaps. Inside the waistcoat is fully lined and features the classic Dunn label from this period. The rear features a gold coloured back and a cinch back half belt and buckle.

The waistcoat will suit around a 36" - 37" chest depending on desired fit and when laid flat it measures -

Chest - 18 3/4"
Length at back - 20 1/2"
Length at front - 23"

The waistcoat is in good condition with various signs of wear and age. There is some limited staining and a hole to the front right tip (as worn). It is far from perfect but is still wearable. Please study the pictures before purchasing.

A classic piece of mid Century British menswear from a well known maker.
