Original 1940s British Men's Single Breasted Wool Jacket

SOLD

Code: 53567

An original navy black men's suit jacket dating from the late 1940s to early 1950s.

This jacket may have originally been part of a suit or could have been worn with morning dress. This style is sometimes referred to as a 'Stroller' jacket and would have been a common sight during its day. It features a three button front and pronounced lapel shape, typical of the 1940s. It has no rear vent which is another trait of jackets from an earlier period. The jacket features three welt pockets to the front and a four button, non-functioning cuff.

Inside the jacket features a full lining and two interior pockets. There are no labels or similar present inside the jacket.

The jacket will suit around a 38" chest depending on desired fit. When laid flat it measures -

Chest - 21 1/2"
Inside arm - 9"
Outside arm - 26 1/2"
Shoulders - 18"
Length - 30"

The jacket is in good condition as can be seen in the pictures. There are some signs of wear and use which are to be expected with a vintage piece such as this. Please study the pictures before purchasing.

All in all, a nice original jacket in good condition.
