Original 1950s Ladies Plaid Check Cigarette Pants

An original pair of ladies cigarette pants dating from the 1950s and in good condition. 

This style of trousers was extremely popular during the latter part of the 1950s and into the early 1960s. They are now an iconic design which are instantly recognizable. Made from a wool material which features a classic tartan plaid check design of blue, green yellow and red; these trousers are cut in the typical cigarette style with a narrow cuff and high waist. There is a side opening which fastens with a period 'Lightning' branded zip and a single button to the top. Turn ups are located at the bottom of each leg which are also a nice period feature.

The slacks will suit someone of around a 24" waist and when laid flat they measure - 

Waist - 12 1/2"
Hips - 20"
Rise - 13"
Rear rise - 15 1/2"

Inside leg - 27"
Outside leg - 39"
Cuff - 6 1/2"

The trousers are in good condition with no serious signs of wear or use. They display well and look to be totally wearable. They are of course a vintage, pre-worn item which may have small issues commensurate with age.
