Original 1940s Navy Blue Double Breasted Blazer - Size 38

An original navy blue double breasted blazer jacket made in Great Britain during the 1940s. 

This is a classic British jacket which was very popular during the mid Century period. These were often worn with club, school, society or regimental badges on the upper breast pocket and always feature the flat brass buttons seen on this example. The jacket is made from a very dark blue wool which has a soft finish and features two lower patch pockets and another patch pocket to the chest. Like the majority of jackets from the 1940s, it features no rear vents and is cut short in the body.   

The interior of the jacket is fully lined in rayon and there is a single interior pocket and a hanging loop to the neck. There are no labels or stamps anywhere inside the jacket.

The jacket will suit a 38" chest and when laid flat is measures - 

Chest - 21"
Inside arm - 18 3/4"
Outside arm - 26 1/2"
Shoulders - 18"
Length - 30 1/2"

The jacket is in good condition as can be seen in the pictures. It has been worn but overall it displays well and is still very wearable. There is wear to the sleeve lining around the armpits which is not shown in the pictures.
