Original 1950s British Tweed Patch Pocket Jacket - Size 38

SOLD

Code: 53340

An original British made men's tweed three button jacket with patch pocket, dating from the 1950s.

This style of jacket was highly popular in the UK during the 1950s and would have been worn as a casual jacket with a mismatched pair of trousers such as grey flannels. Cut in a typically British manner, the jacket features a three button single breasted front fastening and a notched collar which has a pronounced shape, typical of the era. Patch pockets are fitted to the front and the rear features two short vents. The jacket is made from a grey-green tweed which has flecks of different shades of green. The interior of the jacket is fully lined with a grey coloured rayon material and there are two interior pockets.

The jacket will suit around a 38" chest depending on desired fit and when laid flat it measures -

Chest - 21 1/2"
Inside arm 17 1/2"
Outside arm - 25"
Shoulders - 18"
Length - 30 1/2"

The jacket is in distressed condition which is reflected in the price. There are numerous holes, repairs and signs of heavy wear to the jacket which are detailed in the pictures. Please take time to study these before purchasing.

Whilst not in the best condition this is a classic piece of British menswear from the 1950s.
