Original 1950s British Men's Lemon Coloured Shirt by 'Cotella'

SOLD

Code: 53320

An original men's collarless shirt made by 'Cotella' from 'Vantella' Poplin Cotton in the 1950s.

This shirt is typical of those made in the UK in the 1950s. It is made from a lemon coloured poplin cotton and features a white neckband collar and a full button front. The cuffs are french, designed to be worn folded back onto themselves with cufflinks. They are semi stiff and made by 'Van Heusen' as is the white cotton neckband collar.

Inside the neck of the shirt the original label is still present and states the material as 'Super quality "Vantella" poplin English made shirt'. The collar size of 15 1/2 is printed on the inside of the collar as is the brand name of 'Van Heusen'.

The shirt will suit someone of around a 42" chest depending on desired fit and when laid flat measures -

Chest - 24 1/2"
Inside arm - 25"
Outside arm - 26 1/2"
Length at front - 33 1/2"
Length at back - 35 1/2"
Shoulders - 11"
Collar - 15 1/2"

The sleeve measurement is taken with the cuffs flat. If worn folded back with cuff links this would detract 2" from the overall length.

The shirt is in reasonable condition but does have various stains and marks which are reflected in the price. Overall it looks to be very wearable but please take time to study the pictures before purchasing and bear in mind that this is a pre-owned vintage shirt thay may have other small issues commensurate with age.

A nice original shirt in a great colour.
