Original 1950s British Army Officer's Jungle Green Bush Jacket

SOLD

Code: 53164

An original British Army officer's Jungle Green bush jacket dating from the 1950s and in good condition.

This pattern of bush jacket was popular during the 1940s and 1950s for officers serving in the Far East. This example is made from a lightweight cotton drill and features pleated breast pockets with scalloped pocket flaps and bellows pockets to the skirt. The jacket has long sleeves that end in a barrel cuff which fasten with a single button whilst epaulettes are located to the shoulders. Hand stitched holes can be found here which are designed to take a shoulder title surmounted by three rank stars. There is clear indication on each sleeve as to where formation badges were previously fitted and there are press studs where removeable badges have been previously.

The jacket will fit a 38-39" chest and when laid flat measures -

Chest - 22"
Inside arm - 19 1/4"
Outside arm - 25 1/2"
Shoulders - 18"
Length - 32"

The jacket is in good condition for its age with some signs of previous wear and use. It has been starched for smartness giving it some slight stiffness. It displays well but please take time to study the pictures and bear in mind that this is a pre-worn, vintage item.

A nice original 1950s bush jacket!
