Original 1960s RAF Khaki Drill Bush Jacket

SOLD

Code: 53022

An original British Khaki Drill Tunic dating from the 1960s.

This tunic is made from poplin cotton making it a very lightweight and easy to wear jacket, ideally suited for hot temperatures. The original issue label has been removed but I believe this is an RAF pattern. It features pleated patch pockets with scalloped pocket flaps, lower pockets and short sleeves. There is also a waist belt which fastens with a double prong staybrite buckle and revolving shank buttons are fitted throughout. Corporal stripes are fitted to the sleeves and are clearly original to the jacket.

Inside the tunic there is evidence of where the label would have originally been affixed. The lower pockets also feature openings to the interior which fasten with single buttons which is an interesting detail.

The tunic is a smaller size which will suit around a 36" chest and when laid flat it measures -

Chest - 20 1/2"
Waist - 30 1/2"
Shoulders - 17"
Length - 30"

The jacket is in good condition and is still very wearable. There are signs of wear and age along with some staining as shown in the pictures. Please take time to study these and bear in mind that this is a vintage, pre-owned item.

A nice original 1960s bush jacket with some great details!
