Original 1970s RAF Officers Raincoat - Size 12

SOLD

Code: 52933

An original RAF Officers raincoat dating from the early to mid 1970s.

This coat belonged to John Terry Tuckey who joined the RAF in the late 1940s and served well into the 1980s.

The coat is the standard pattern used by officers for many years and is virtually unchanged from those worn during the Second World War. It is made from a blue-grey coloured gabardine wool and features a double breasted front, hip pockets and a matching waist belt. Epaulettes are located to each shoulder and are fitted with squadron leader slip on rank badges.

The interior of the coat features full lining as well as interior pockets. The original label is also present and bears the title 'Raincoat, Man's, Officers RAF', the maker's name of 'M. Baker Ltd' and the size of 12. The A/78 contract number is also present and dates the coat to around 1974.

The coat is in worn condition with signs of use and age, particularly around the collar. It is still very wearable but please take time to study the pictures before purchasing.

A good example of this classic design!
