Original 1950s Men's Chalk Stripe Trousers - 34x30

SOLD

Code: 52932

An original pair of men's chalk stripe trousers made in the 1950s.

These trousers were quite possibly made as part of a suit. They are made from a wool which features a striped pattern of white on black. In keeping with the period they are cut with a high rise waist and wide leg and feature a twin pleated front, slash pockets to the hips and a single pocket to the rear. The fly fastens with 'Lightning' branded zipper which is typical of the era in style although zips were only started to be used for men's trousers at this point in time. They also have three metal loops along the top edge of the waist which would have formed part of a brace system.

The trousers will suit someone of around a 34" waist depending on desired fit and when laid flat measure -

Waist - 17 1/2"
Rise - 15 1/2"
Rear rise - 20"
Inside leg - 30"
Outside leg - 43 1/2"
Cuff - 8"

The overall condition of the trousers is good with some signs of age and wear. There are some small holes to the front of the left leg which are hard to see in the pictures due to the colourway of the material. They are not too noticeable in person but the damage has been reflected in the price. Please study the pictures and bear in mind that these are a vintage, pre-worn pair of trousers with small flaws commensurate with age.

A nice pair of 1950s trousers in a great fabric and with some very interesting details.
