A classic 1940s German leather trench coat in good condition.
This style of coat was very popular in Germany during the 1940s. Made from a heavy, very dark brown coloured leather, the coat features a full brown coloured moleskin lining which is typical of German items from this period. There are no buttons to the front as the coat relies on a small belt inside the coat and a large, full waist belt with a double buckle system to fasten it. Slash pockets are located to the hips and the cuffs feature a button and tab detail.
The coat is a larger size which will fit a 40" - 42" chest well. When laid flat it measures -
Chest - 24 1/2"
Inside arm - 18"
Outside arm - 26"
Shoulders - 20"
Length - 46"
The coat is in good condition as can be seen in the pictures. It is very wearable with only limited signs of wear and age. The only flaw I can find is a small length of stitching which has come away in the armpit area of one of the sleeves. Please study the pictures before purchasing and bear in mind that this is a vintage, pre-worn coat which may have small issues commensurate with age.
