Original 1950s British Army Officers Jungle Green Bush Jacket

SOLD

Code: 52785

An original British Army Officers Jungle Green Bush Jacket dating from the 1950s and featuring 63rd Gurkha Brigade formation flashes.

This jacket is typical of those worn in the 1940s and 1950s by British soldiers serving in the Far East. It is made from cotton drill and features pleated breast pockets with pointed flaps, lower flapped bellows pockets, long sleeves with barrel cuffs and epaulettes. The epaulettes feature four stitched holes each which would suggest that the original owner was a Lieutenant or Lieutenant Colonel. To the top of each sleeve is a 63rd Gurkha Brigade formation flash which features crossed Kukris on a green field.

The jacket will fitted someone 38-40" chest depending on desired fit and when laid flat measures -

Chest - 22"
Inside arm - 22"
Outside arm - 26 3/4"
Shoulders - 20 1/4"
Length - 32 1/2"

The tunic is in worn condition as can be seen in the pictures. It is still very wearable and displays well but may have small issues commensurate with age. One of the epaulette buttons is partly broken as can be seen in picture 4. Please take time to study the pictures provided.

A nice original Jungle Green tunic with nice period insignia.
