Original 1940s British Army Officers Poplin Cotton Shirt

SOLD

Code: 52781

A nice original British Army Officers Shirt made from poplin cotton and dating from the 1940s.

This shirt is made from a beige-green coloured poplin cotton which was a popular choice for British officers during the 1930-1950s. The shirt is typical of those worn in the first half of the 20th Century in the UK featuring a half button or 'tunic' front and a neckband collar. This was worn with detachable collars made from the same material.

The original label is still present inside the shirt and bears a maker's name which appears to read 'Endeaboar Regd'.

The shirt will suit someone of around a 38" chest, depending on desired fit. When laid flat it measures -

Chest - 23 1/2"
Inside arm - 19"
Outside arm - 23"
Shoulders - 18"
Length at front - 32 1/2"
Length at back - 37"
Collar - 14"

The shirt is in very good condition with only limited signs of wear and use. Overall it displays very well with the only real flaw being a small nick to the right sleeve. Please study the pictures before purchasing and bear in mind that this is a vintage, pre-worn item.

All in all a nice original early British Army officers poplin shirt in good condition.
