Original 1960s Tan Cotton Overalls by 'Harpoon' - Size 42

SOLD

Code: 52684

An original pair of British cotton overalls made by 'Harpoon' in the 1960s.

These overalls are typical of those made in the UK during this period. They are constructed from a khaki coloured sanforized cotton drill material and feature a fully buttoning front. The fly fastens with plastic buttons whilst the upper portion fastens with revolving shank buttons which can be removed when the item is laundered. The buttons are held in place with the correct metal split rings and even retain the metal washers which are usually missing (picture 8). Slash pockets are located to each hip and a patch pocket can be found to the left breast. Another patch pocket is located to the seat and a spanner pocket is fitted to the right seam. A cinchback belt and buckle can also be found to the rear which is a typical period feature.

Inside the overalls the original label is still present. It features typical period graphics and the makers name of 'Harpoon' is stated in red. The size is also present as 42. There is a second label which is found behind the fly at the chest which bears information pertaining to care and washing.

When laid flat the overalls measure -

Chest -23"
Waist - 20"
Inside arm - 18"
Outside arm - 24 1/4"
Inside leg - 30"
Cuff - 9 3/4"

The crotch on overalls is usually dropped so the inside leg will most likely come up longer than stated above.

The coveralls are in excellent condition as can be seen in the pictures. They are in unworn, new old stock condition and display extremely well with no signs of previous use or wear. Whilst the garment is clearly in excellent condition please take time to study the pictures and bear in mind that these are vintage overalls which may have small issues commensurate with age.

A fine pair of mid Century overalls with a great label and in stunning condition!
