Original WW2 US Marine Corps P41 HBT Jacket

SOLD

Code: 52446

An original United States Marine Corps Herringbone Twill fatigue jacket in good condition and dating from the Second World War.

This pattern of jacket was introduced for wear with a matching pair of trousers and is often referred to as 1941 pattern. It replaced the early blue denim working dress and saw service throughout WW2, being replaced by the P44 pattern towards the end of the conflict.

The jacket is made from the standard green coloured herringbone twill material used for many US Army workwear items during the Second World War. The jacket features three patch pockets to the front and the USMC emblem is printed to the chest pocket. Black metal donut buttons are fitted throughout and are all marked 'U. S. Marine Corps'. The cuff features two buttons allowing the cuff to be fastened tightly around the wearer's wrist. To the inside of the jacket there is evidence of markings below the collar although these are now sadly illegible.

The jacket will suit someone of around a 36-38" waist depending on desired fit and when laid flat measures -

Chest - 21"
Inside arm - 18 1/2"
Outside arm - 22 1/4"
Shoulders - 19 1/4"
Length - 28 1/2"

The jacket is in good overall condition with some signs of wear and use. There are some rust marks and light staining but overall it presents well and is very wearable. Please study the pictures before purchasing.

A nice original USMC HBT jacket!
