Original Edwardian Men's Striped Morning Trousers

SOLD

Code: 52281

An original pair of striped morning trousers dating from the Edwardian period and in nice condition.

This style of trousers was very popular during the first half of the 20th century and were usually worn with the corresponding morning dress jacket etc. The trousers are made from a striped wool and feature a high rise waist and button fly, as was common during this period. The rear of the trousers feature a fishtail cut and flat front which is typical of trousers made in the early part of the 20th Century and through to the 1920s. Buttons are located around the top of the waistband to which braces can be attached and slash pockets are located to each hip. To the rear is a single pocket - another typically British feature.

The trousers feature a very narrow 7" cuff which is yet another indication to the early manufacture of these trousers. They are cut short in the leg as they are designed to sit short, showing off the ankle boot or spats which would have been worn with that trousers.

The trousers will suit someone of around a 32" waist depending on desired fit and when laid flat measure -

Waist - 16 1/4"
Rise - 14"
Rear rise - 19"
Inside leg - 26 1/2"
Outside leg - 39"
Cuff - 7"

The trousers are in good wearable condition with only limited signs of wear and use. Overall they present very well but please study the pictures and bear in mind that these are a vintage, pre-worn pair of trousers with small issues commensurate with age.

A great looking pair of early men's trousers with some great details!
