Original British Officers Holdall Grip Bag

An original British officers canvas grip bag as used by officers serving with the British Army, Royal Air Force and Royal Navy. 

This pattern of bag was introduced during the Second World War for officers as a travel bag. Made from a khaki coloured canvas material, the bag features leather reinforcements to the corners, studs to the bottom and leather handles. The zipper is plastic dating this to the 1970s or 1980s. Aside from this detail the bag is identical to those made in the 1940s and 1950s. 

The bag is in good condition as can be seen in the pictures. It is still very usable with only limited signs of age and use. 

A nice period bag which would make a good addition to any outfit!
