Original 1951 Dated RAF War Service Dress Blouse, New Pat - Size 7

SOLD

Code: 52164

An original 1951 dated RAF 'War Service Dress Blouse, New Pat' which belonged to a Pilot Officer.

This pattern of jacket was introduced at the very beginning of the 1950s and is a direct descendant of the War Service Dress Blouse manufactured in the Second World War. Made from the standard RAF blue coloured serge material, the jacket features a notched collar, chest pockets with black bakelite RAF buttons and Pilot Officer insignia to the epaulettes.

To the interior the original label is still present. It bears the makers name of 'L. Silberston & Sons' and the year of 1951. The size is marked as 7 which is designed to fit a 35-36" chest and a 31" waist. The War Department broad arrow marking is also present, as is the contract number. As well as this the War Department acceptance stamp is also present and is surmounted by the letter 'C'.

The jacket is in good condition as can be seen in the pictures. It displays well with only limited signs of age and wear. Please study the pictures provided.

A nice original tunic from the early Jet-Age period. This would make a great addition to any aviation collection!
