An original Royal Navy Ratings 'Jumper, Serge' dating from the 1940s.

This jumper is a private purchase example made by 'Barnetts Naval Outfitters & Contractors' which would have almost certainly been worn as a best jumper for special occasions and walking out. The exterior looks the same as the standard issue examples and features a two button cuff with indigo lining. The single interior pocket is of different design however as it has no button and is smaller than those found on issue examples.

The interior retains the original maker's name and the original owner has added his initials to the interior which reads 'A. K'.

The jumper is a smaller size and when laid flat measures - 

Chest - 19"
Inside arm - 22 1/2"
Outside arm - 24 3/4"
Length - 26"
Shoulders - 14 1/2"

The jumper is in good condition for its age and it displays very well. As it was clearly used for best it only shows limited signs of wear and use. There is a small hole to the right hand armpit but this is only noticeable
