Original 1930s Men's Whipcord Breeches by 'Bernard Weatherill Ltd'

An original pair of 1930s men's beige coloured whipcord breeches made by 'Bernard Weatherill Ltd'. 

Bernard Weatherill was founded in 1910 and is still going strong today with premises on London's famous Savile Row. These breaches date from the pre-war period and are made from a light coloured beige whipcord - a popular material for breaches in the first half of the 20th Century. They feature a flap front, or 'split falls' as they are properly called - a design which has its origins in the 19th century. More buttons are fitted around the waist which are designed to support braces and small buttons are fitted to the bottom of each leg and fasten around the calves. Frog mouth pockets can be found to the front of the breeches.

Inside the original label is still present and bears the makers name 'Bernard Weatherill Ltd' as well as the place names of London, Ascot, Camberley and Aldershot.

The breeches are a smaller size which would suit someone of around a 28" waist depending on desired fit. When laid flat they measure - 

Waist - 14 1/4"
Rise - 13"
Rear rise - 20" 
Inside leg - 19 1/2"
Calf - 5 3/4"
Cuff - 6 1/2"

The breeches are in worn condition but have clearly been well loved and looked after. There are some period repairs and the calf reinforcements have been removed at some stage. Overall they look to be very wearable but please study the pictures and bear in mind that these are a pre-owned pair of vintage breeches which may have small issues commensurate with age.
