Original Early 20th Century British Khaki Drill Shorts

£120.00 Approx $150.19, €139.86

Code: 51940

An scarce pair of early 20th Century khaki drill shorts in good condition.

These shorts date from around the time of the Great War and have a variety of traits which indicate that these were made in the first two decades of the 20th Century. Firstly, the cut is quite obviously different to more commonly found shorts of the 1930-50s. The feature a flat front and narrow leg as well as a fishtail cut to the rear. As well as this the rear features a cinch-back belt and buckle which is typically found on earlier items. Slash pockets are located to each side seam as is common and belt loops are fitted around the waist. The fly fastens with buttons and the pocket bags are made from a soft salt and pepper style cotton.

The shorts will fit someone of around a 34-35" waist depending on desired fit and when laid flat measure -

Waist - 17 3/4"
Rise - 13 1/2"
Rear rise -  17 1/2"
Inside leg - 8 1/2"
Outside leg - 20"
Cuff - 12"

The shorts are in good conditon as can be seen in the pictures. They only show limited signs of wear and use and overall they display well. There is a small section where the stitching has come away at the seat as is detailed in the pictures. Please take time ti study the pictures and bear in mind that these shorts are a vintage item which may have other small issues commensurate with age.

A rare pair of early Khaki Drill shorts in great condition!
