Original WW2 Period United States Officers Shirt - Private first Class

An original WW2 period private purchase shirt featuring US 3rd Army Private First Class insignia.

This shirt is the standard officers private purchase version worn during the Second World War. It features two labels to the neck with the first denoting the size of 15 32 and the second stating 'Regulation Army Officers Shirt, Dry Clean'. It is made from a mustard collared wool, very similar to those worn by Enlisted Men. 

Whilst this is an officer's quality example and is labeled as such, it has the insignia of a Private First Class serving with the US 3rd Army. Private soldiers did from time to time buy their own private purchase shirts and differ from the standard issue examples in quality and because they have epaulettes. 

The shirt sizes are stated on the label and when laid flat it measures - 

Chest - 21"
Inside arm - 19"
Outside arm - 22 1/2"
Length - 31"

The shirt is in used condition and has a variety of small holes to the body, arms and around the collar. It is in far from perfect condition which is reflected in the price. Please take time to study the pictures before purchasing.
