Original Royal Scots Greys Coloured Field Service Cap

An original British Army navy blue coloured field service cap with Royal Scots Greys cap badge.

This cap is made from a navy blue wool and features yellow piping to the top edge and two brass general service buttons to the front. The cap is fitted with a bi-metal Royal Scots Greys regimental cap badge. The interior of the cap is lined with a mushroom coloured cotton drill and a velvet sweatband is fitted around the opening. 

Two pieces of cardboard have been cut to shape and fitted to the interior of the cap to help it stay in shape. They have been made out of packaging material which features a royal appointment to the King which helps to date this to pre 1953. 

When laid flat the opening of the cap measures 10 1/4".

The cap is in good condition for its age and it displays well with signs of wear and use. Please study the pictures provided.

All in all a nice period cap which would make a good addition to any collection.
