Original 1940s Theatre Made British Jungle Green Trousers

SOLD

Code: 51835

An original pair of WW2 Period British Army Jungle Green Trousers in good condition.

These original trousers are clearly theatre made, most likely in India, and are typical of those worn during the Second World War and into the 1950s. They are quite possibly private purchase examples as they are devoid of any stamp or markings - although this is not uncommon with theatre made uniforms.

The trousers are made from a cotton drill material which has been dyed the standard Jungle Green shade used during the 1940s and 1950s. They feature a high rise waist, button fly and a turn up to the bottom of the leg. Waist adjusters are fitted to each waist and the rear of the trousers feature a single pocket which are both typical period details found on British clothing from this era.

The trousers will fit someone of around a 32" waist and when laid flat measure -

Waist - 16 1/2"
Rise - 14"
Rear rise - 18"
Inside leg - 31"
Outside leg - 44 1/2"
Cuff - 9 3/4"

The trousers are in good condition with some signs of wear and use. They have been starched at some stage for smartness and there is some staining and other small issues commensurate with age but overall well. There is a period repair to the seat where a patch has been added behind an area of wear to reinforce and strengthen the trousers. Please study the pictures and bear in mind that these are a vintage, pre-worn pair of trousers.

A good pair of original 1940s JG trousers with some great details!
