Original 1955 Dated 1950 Pattern Bush Jacket

SOLD

Code: 51815

An original 'Jackets Bush Khaki, 1950 Pattern' dated 1955 in a larger size 10 and good condition.

Often referred to as the 'Khaki Drill Bush Jacket' this pattern of jacket has to be one of the most classic military jackets of the 20th Century. Cut in a typical Safari style, the jacket features two buttoning chest pockets with scalloped flaps, long sleeves and a double button closure to the cuff

Inside the tunic the original label is still present and states the size as No.10 which fits up to 6' tall, a 41-43" chest and a 36-38" waist. It also bears the manufacturer's name, 'Christopher Roberts & Co Ltd', the 1955 date and the War Department broad arrow marking.

When laid flat the jacket measures -

Chest - 25"
Inside arm - 18 1/4"
Outside arm - 24 1/2"
Shoulders - 20"
Length - 29 1/2"

The condition of the jacket is good for its age and it displays well. It does have signs of wear and use and there is a stain to the front as shown in the pictures. The rear of the collar has a period repair to the rear which is again detailed in the pictures. Please study the pictures as they form part of the description and remember that this is a pre-worn vintage item.

All in all a good example of this pattern of bush jacket with a nice clear date and in very wearable condition.
