An original men's three piece suit dating from the late 1960s and made by 'Dunn & Co'.
This suit is typical of those made in the late 1960s. It is cut from a grey coloured cloth which features a windowpane check of black and orange which gives it a classic and traditional English feel. The jacket features a three button closure, flapped lower pockets and a single breast pocket. The rear of the jacket features a double vent as was popular during this period. The jacket is fully lined and features a number of labels including the makers label which states 'Dunn & Co' as the manufacturer who were a prolific manufacturer of menswear in the UK from the 1930s through to the 1970s. Another label states 'Dry Clean' which denotes this as being made after 1964 when these labels started to be attached to clothing. Inside the interior pocket is yet another label which has 'R44' marked on it which most likely denotes the size as a 44 Regular.
The waistcoat is made from the same windowpane check cloth and features a six button front and four welt pockets. The rear features a cinch back belt and buckle as is commonly found on waistcoats.
The trousers are again typical of the period featuring a high rise waist and slight flare to the trousers leg. The fly fastens with a 'Aero' brand zipper and buttons are located around the inside edge of the waistband to which braces can be attached. Angle slash pockets are located to each hip and the rear of the trousers features twin pockets. Side adjusters are located on each hip meaning that the waist size can be decreased.
The suit is a larger size which was designed to fit a 44" chest and when laid flat measures -
