Original 1960s British Men's Grey Worsted Wool Trousers

SOLD

Code: 51699

An original pair of men's grey worsted wool terylene mix trousers dating from the 1960s.

These trousers are typical of those worn by men in the UK during the 1960s. Grey slacks such as this were popular as they were a versatile item which could be worn with a blazer, sports jacket or windbreaker. They are the descendant of the grey flannel trousers which became extremely popular with men in the UK during the 1930s and stayed in vogue into the mid 1950s.

The trousers are made from a wool worsted and Terylene mix as was common in this period. The cut is typical of the era with a mid rise waist and conservative hem width. Twin pleats and angled slash hip pockets are found to the front as is a ticket pocket. The waist is adjustable which is another common feature from this period and the bears two pockets.

When laid flat the trousers measure -

Waist - 17 1/2"
Rise - 13"
Rear rise - 17"
Inside leg - 26 1/2" (2" inlaly at cuff)
Outside leg - 38 1/2"
Cuff - 8"

The trousers are in worn condition with some stainingm particularly to the crotch and other issues due to wear and age. Please study the pictures carefully before purchasing.

A classic pair of men's trousers from the 1960s. Whilst in far from perfect condition they have some great details which are typical of the period.
