Original British Army Khaki Drill Tunic

SOLD

Code: 51688

An original British Army Khaki Drill Tunic dating from approximately the 1930-40s.

This tunic is made from the standard khaki coloured cotton drill used for British tropical uniforms during the 1930s and 1940s. It features a stand and fall collar, two pleated breast pockets, a pointed cuff and a patrol back. The tunic is fitted with brass Kings Crown buttons and holes can be found on each epaulette to which brass regimental shoulder titles can be fitted.

Inside the tunic the original label is present but has sadly been washed out.

The tunic will fit around a 38" chest depending on desired fit and when laid flat measures -

Chest - 21 1/2"
Inside arm - 16 1/2"
Outside arm - 23 1/2"
Length - 28"

The tunic is in good condition as can be seen in the pictures. The cuff shows signs of previous stitching as shown in the pictures but overall it displays well. It is a vintage pre-worn item however so may have small issues commensurate with age.

A nice original tunic which could suit a collector or re-enactor.
