Original 1954 Dated Trousers No.3 Dress - Overdyed

SOLD

Code: 51653

An original pair of 1954 dated No.3 Dress Trousers which have been overdyed.

These trousers were originally made from a white cotton drill which has since been overdyed giving them a khaki colour. They were designed as a work trouser and feature typical utilitarian details of the era. The fly fastens with buttons whilst more buttons are fitted around the inside of the waistband to support braces. The front of the trousers features twin flats and angled slash pockets are also present. A ticket pocket is located below the waistband at the front of the trousers and waist adjusters are fitted to each side. The are belt loops fitted to the waist and no rear pocket.

Inside the trousers the original label is still present. It has been overdyed at the same time as the trousers but is still completely legible. It reads 'Trousers No.3 Dress W.O.1 and OR' and the size is marked as 15. The 1954 date is present as is the War Department broad arrow marking.

When laid flat the trousers measure -

Waist - 15 1/4"
Rise - 14"
Rear rise - 17"
Inside leg - 30 1/2"
Outside leg - 44"
Cuff - 9"

The trousers are in good condition with some signs of wear, staining and a gew period repairs. They are still very wearable but please study the pictures and bear in mind that these are a pre-worn pair of vintage work trousers.

Altogether a nice pair of mid century work trousers which would make a great addition to any wardobe!
