Original 1940s British Workwear Khaki Shorts

SOLD

Code: 51532

An original pair of British made work shorts dating from the 1940s.

These shorts appear to have been designed as a work wear piece as they feature the rubber buttons often found on overalls dating from the same period. What their original purpose was however I do not know. They are made from cotton drill as was common for workwear at this time and feature slash pockets to each hip and a rear patch pocket. Interestingly they feature French style V-shaped belt loops.

Inside the shorts retain two original labels. The first states 'Specially Shrunk' which is typical of the era. Under this are two numerals which relate to size and read '28'.

The shorts are a small size which will fit around a 28-30" waist depending on desired fit. When laid flat they measure -

Waist - 30 1/2"
Rise - 12"
Rear rise - 15"
Inside leg - 8 1/2"
Cuff - 9 1/4"

The shorts are in well used condition with plenty of signs of wear and use. They have a variety of stains and wear with a small tear to the bottom of one of the pocket openings (see pictures). They are still wearable and have a great look to them but please study the pictures and bear in mind that these are a pre-worn pair of vintage work shorts.

An interesting piece of mid century workwear with some great details.
