Original WW2 RAF War Service Dress Blouse with LAC insignia

SOLD

Code: 50214

A very original example of a wartime RAF War Service Dress blouse with LAC insignia.

This blouse came with a small RAF collection which have clearly been stored since the war.

The blouse is typical of mid-late war manufacture featuring black horn buttons, a pressed metal waist buckle, RAF style pocket flaps and two metal hook and eyes to secure the collar at the neck.

The original insignia is still present on the jacket with two printed Leading Aircaftsman badges to each sleeve and a good conduct chevron to the lower left sleeve. Interestingly, this jacket is devoid of the Albatross insignia usually worn on the upper sleeve.

The jacket has had its original label removed and no stamps are evident but this is undoubtedly an authentic wartime example. In 1946 the RAF changed their jacket pattern to a very different style of collar.

The overall condition is good but the jacket has clearly been heavily worn in service and is by no means a mint example. If you want want the real deal that was used during the Second World War - this is the jacket for you!

All in all, a very original in-touched example of a wartime RAF ground crew blouse.
