WW2 Pattern RAF Officers Khaki Drill Tunic Dated 1953

SOLD

Code: 50316

A very good example of an RAF Officers Khaki Drill tunic dated 1953 but identical to wartime pattern in every way.

The tunic follows the same pattern the RAF started using in before the Second World War. It features two pleated chest pockets, two bellows pockets on the skirt, a cavalry cuff, a waist belt with brass buckle and a full set of brass Kings crown buttons.

This jacket was made 'Flights' who were considered one of the better tailors at the time and this is reflected in the quality of the jacket. Inside is the original tailors label which states the jacket as being made for a P/O K. Duffield 4113926 and is dated 25/2/1953.

The jacket has removable shoulder pads which are held in with three pop studs which is a nice period feature to the jacket.

The overall condition of the jacket is fantastic as can be seen in the photographs. The jacket looks to be unworn as it is still extremely fresh showing now signs of wear and certainly no damage.

Overall an excellent example of an RAF Officers Khaki Drill Tunic which although dated 1953 would make a perfect substitute for a wartime example and would look excellent in a collection or for re-enactment purposes.
