Original WW2 Era RAF Officers Private Purchase Black Tie

An original 1930-40s black British made tie as worn By RAF Officers during the Second World War.
RAF Officers kit was all private purchase and bought from a variety of gentlemen’s outfitters. Some would have had their own ties but most would have stocked ties from another company. It is impossible to say if this tie was ever worn by an RAF airman but it is without a date wartime manufate if not earlier and exactly the pattern for an RAF officer.
The construction of the tie is typical of ties made during the 1930s and 1940s. It is a single piece construction and not backed likes later ties. The material is again typical of the period but most importantly is the length and shape. The tie is very short and a very conservative width and is extremely close to original issue ties I have on my collection.
The tie features a nice period label which reads ‘Woolline, true bias’ and is typical of the era.
The tie is in nice condition and displays wel although there is some wear around the neck which I have photographed. None-the-less the tie still displays well.
This is an excellent opportunity to acquire the correct tie for your RAF Officers uniform or mannequin.
