An original Second World War RAF War Service Dress Blouse with pilots insignia, clearly dated 1944 and in a large size No.15.
This pattern of jacket came into service in late 1940 listed as 'Suits, Aircrew' before being re-designated 'War Service Dress' in 1943, remaining virtually unchanged. The blouse features the wire style waist buckle usually associated with early manufacture 'Suits, Aircrew' blouses, RAF style scalloped pocket flaps, black horn buttons all round and a pair of hook and eyes to close the neck.
The blouse comes complete with an original set of flat type kings crown pilots wings of WW2 vintage. As well as this Flying Officers rank has been added to each epaulet making a nice authentic wartime aircrew battledress.
Inside the jacket retains its original makers label which bares the 1944 date, War Department broad arrow marking and the maker 'Justman Ltd'. The size is stated as No.15 which is a larger size and will fit up to a 42" chest, 6' tall and a 38" waist making it ideal for a re-enactor.
The condition of the blouse is good as can be seen in the pictures. It is a vintage pre-owned item however and may have issues consummate with this. Please study the pictures as they form part of the description.
Altogether this is a very nice original battledress blouse with original aircrew insignia. This would be ideal for a re-enactor due to its large size which are becoming very hard to find today!
