British Airborne Denison Smock

SOLD

Code: 50010

A great example of a World War Two period Denison Smock which we have had in our own personal collection for many years.

The overall condition of this smock is great, with just the right amount of wear. The colours have faded somewhat and there are one or two rips and repairs, but this is to be expected with a smock that's had some use!

The label is still present but is very washed out and therefore is sadly unreadable. The two rear pop studs on the inside are also of interest as they have the remnants of the original green point on them, which none of the others show. They are also brass rather than white metal.

The fishtail is still intact and has been stitched up. It would be possible to unpick it if so desired.

All the popstuds are inrtact and working and the smock also feautres a brass 'Newey's' half zipper to the front which functions perfectly.

The smock has had cuffs added at some point during its life, as can be seen in the pictures.

The smock measures (when laid flat) -

Armpit to armpit: 30"
Length at back: 36"

Please note that this is the true measurements, not the size it will fit. The Denison smock is a very loose garment designed to be worn over the Battledress uniform, so the actually fit will be MUCH smaller.

All in all, a great example of a very collectible jacket!
