Original WW2 Royal Engineers Battledress Blouse and Photograph

SOLD

Code: 50013

A lovely example of a Royal Engineers late war battledress blouse with all original insignia as well as a photograph of the original owner wearing the jacket!

The jacket itself is a Canadian made example and has all the correct stamps you would expect find in a Canadian made battledress blouse. Both sleeves have orignal Royal Engineers printed shoulder titles as well as embriodered Belrin group divisional patches. Below this is a sergeant stripe surmounted by both a crown and the engineers unique, both in brass. This denotes staff sergeant and is a unique layout of insignia only used by the Royal Engineers.

The overall condition of the jacket is poor with extensive damage to most areas. However this is reflected in the price and it still displays very nicely.

The jacket measures as a 20" chest when laid flat.

The photograph which is included depicts the orignal owner clearly wearing the same jacket. The print is roughly 8x4" so a good size with plenty of detail.

A lovely grouping which would compliment any collection.
