Royal Artillery Officers Battledress Blouse Dated 1943

SOLD

Code: 50108

A lovely example of a 1940 pattern (austerity) battledress blouse with original insignia to a second lieutenant of the Royal Artillery.

This blouse came along with a number of other items which have been stored away in a trunk since the late 1940s.

This blouse still retains its original label and is marked as a size 9 which was made during 1943 by T Ginsberg, an uncommon maker.

The blouse features the 'early' brown buttons which are always more sort after than the green variety and a chromium plated waist buckle.

Both sleeves retain their original insignia. The Royal Artillery shoulder titles are embroidered and the aos stripes are felt. On each epaulette is one pip which is khaki back on red felt.

The condition of this jacket is fantastic as can be seen in the photographs. The lining is good and the collar fasteners are in place. There is one rust spot/hole however near the collar fasteners.

Overall a super wartime issued battledress blouse with lovely original insignia.
