Original WW2 1937 Pattern Battledress Blouse Queens Royal Regiment, 7th Armoured Division

SOLD

Code: 50177

An amazing original 1937 pattern Battledress blouse with Normandy Period insignia.

This blouse comes from our personal collection and we bought by us from Normandy a number of years ago. I can't guarantee that this blouse has always had these badges on, but it looks good to me!

The blouse itself is a good original 1940 pattern battledress blouse, often referred to as 1937 pattern by collectors. It has all the features expected of a British made blouse such as British made brass buttons, a wire waist buckle and revolving shank buttons securing the epaulets. The label is missing but it is quite clear where it once was and is clearly the shape of a standard British label.

The lining of the jacket is sun faded but in very good condition. And stamps or markings are long gone. This jacket was clearly worn and washed for a number of years which really adds to the authenticity of it being an original infantryman' jacket.

There is also a small ink stain to the bottom of the left breast pocket where a pen has been kept inside. Again, another good sign of the jacket being an original worn combat worn example.

The badges are nice examples; the 'Queens' titles are of the embroidered type as are the 7th armoured division patches. Below this is a single red felt arm of service stripe.

A beautiful original blouse with rare infantry badges which would be ideal for the Normandy collector.
