1945 Dated British Army 1940 Pattern (Austerity) Battledress Blouse

SOLD

Code: 50239

A Nice named example of a British Army 1940 Pattern (Austerity) battledress blouse dated 1945.

This blouse originally belonged to Sapper H.G. Barber, 38 Field Squadron Royal Engineers and certainly has the look of a jacket which has been worn in this regiment!

The label has faded through use but from the stamps we can tell that the blouse is a size 7 and was made in 1945 as it has a Z stamped above the WD stamp; which denotes this as the year of manufacture.

The blouse is in good condition but has been heavily worn, as is to be expected with a Royal Engineers blouse. The only real issue with the blouse are two holes on the left sleeve but these could be repaired if you so wished. Apart from that the blouse is in good condition.

A nice original wartime British Army battledress blouse in reasonable condition. British Army battledress is not often named so this would make a nice addition to a British Army collection.
