1944 Dated British Army Khaki Drill Shorts

SOLD

Code: 50727

An original pair of Indian made Khaki Drill shorts as worn by the British Army, Royal Navy and RAF during the Second World War.

Indian manufactured Khaki Drill items such as this saw widespread issue with British troops throughout the Second World War in the Middle East, Far East and Italy amongst other places.

This particular pair of shorts are typical of wartime Indian made shorts featuring metal Indian buttons and ink stamps to the interior. The shorts have a First Field Dressing pocket to the front and slash pockets to each hip.

Inside the shorts are the usual Indian stamps found in Khaki Drill items. The circular date stamp is present and reads '1944'. There is also the number 11 stamped inside the waistband which most likely refers to the size.

In terms of size the shorts are good large size with a 33" waist so ideal for the modern re-enactor.

The overall condition of the shorts is good but there are various signs of wear and staining as is common with original Khaki Drill items. On the whole however they display well and certainly have plenty of wear left in them.

All in all a good pair of original war dated KD shorts in a large wearable size.
