Original WW2 Era British Khaki Drill Airtex Shirt

SOLD

Code: 50848

An Original Second World War era British Khaki Drill shirt in worn condition.

This pattern of shirt was used throughout WW2 by the British Army, Royal Air Force and Royal Navy as well as many others. Like a lot of original Khaki Drill items it is Indian made and has the usual tell-tale signs of this such as the stitching. It is essentially a very lightweight bush jacket that is made from cellular cotton, a breathable material used in the tropics during this period and often referred to as 'Airtex'.

The shirt is a smaller size measuring 19" pit to pit, 16 1/2" across the waist, 17" across the shoulders and has a 20" inside arm.

The jacket is in well worn condition and has clearly been laundered many times. There are repairs under each arm which are shown in the photographs. There is also some spotting to the arm but all of this has been taken into account with the price. There is also a button missing from one of the lower pockets.

All in all a reasonable example of a wartime period piece of KD.
